Feminism

FEMINISM, THE WORLD OF FEMINISM, WHERE DID IT ALL BEGIN!!!

Feminism is the advocacy of women’s rights based on the equality of the sexes. The history of feminism is the chronological narrative of the movements and ideologies aimed at equal rights for women. Feminists around the world have differed in causes, goals, and intentions depending on time, culture, and country. Most Western feminist historians assert that all movements that work to obtain women’s rights should be considered feminist movements, even when they did not (or do not) apply the term to themselves. A much debated on topic and its relevance and who it applies to, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, a feminist from Nigeria, said: “A feminist is a man or a woman who says, Yes, there’s a problem with gender as it is today, and we must fix it. We must do better” during a TEDtalk in 2012. Below is a list of links that trace when feminist movement began, papers, journals, that have been written around the subject and whether the subject is still relevant today both in the developed and developing countries.
